- Plan and prepare for electrowinning/ electro-refining
- Access, interpret and apply c documentation and procedures for conducting electrowinning electro-refining operations and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Receive, interpret and clarify shift changeover details
- Communicate job requirements with other personnel
- Select personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
- Select appropriate type of auxiliary equipment for work activities
- Perform equipment pre-start checks
- Identify, address and report potential risks and hazards
- Identify, address and report environmental issues
- Adhere to emergency procedures
- Use dust suppression and extraction methods
- Ensure area is well ventilated
- Monitor electrowinning/ electro-refining
- Monitor, gather and interpret data from equipment indicators
- Monitor and adjust solution volume, feed quality and rate of flow in cells
- Monitor cooling system according to site procedures
- Monitor and maintain temperature, voltage and amps.
- Continuously monitor operations
- Minimise and monitor emissions
- Complete all required documentation
- Pass on end of shift information to oncoming shift
- Conduct cell inspections
- Observe and follow electrical safety techniques
- Pull and strip plates
- Shutdown in sequence and/or isolate equipment
- Conduct housekeeping activities and return cell to service
- Clean plant and maintain condition of equipment, ensure suitability for use and address/report issues
- Manage and/or report hazards, and maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain bus-bar cleanliness
- Isolate cell and remove scale from anodes and cell according to site requirements
- Dispose of scale in accordance with site procedures
- Return cell to service in correct sequence
